What the MP Mobi home lift is

This is the home version of MP Mobi: a compact hydraulic lift that travels slowly and does not need a deep pit.

According to the manufacturer’s documents, it is a hydraulic vertical platform lift under EU machinery legislation, not a lift under the Lifts Directive. In practice, it is a car with doors and buttons: you step in, press the floor button and travel, with no need to keep the button pressed.

A speed of 0.15 m/s means that the car covers a 3 m floor height in 20 seconds. That is enough for a cottage or a house with two or three stops, as there are no queues there. MP Mobi can have up to 6 stops and a travel of up to 18 m.

Lift inside or outside the house

MP Mobi is installed inside houses and also as an outdoor lift, in a conventional shaft or a glass one. A panoramic finish is available for the home series.

Building works for a home lift

A home lift usually needs an opening in the floor slab and a pit in the finished floor, and if it stands outdoors, a glazed frame as well.

These works often have to be split among several contractors. With us, the pit, headroom, floor slab strengthening, attached steel-frame shaft and glazing are done by our own crews, and the design is prepared by our own architect.

What the price of a home lift includes

We do not publish prices on the website. A lift for 2 floors and a lift for 3 floors differ by more than just one stop, so we calculate the cost after a site survey.

Home lift cost components
Equipment	Car, doors, guide rails, hydraulic power unit, car operating panel. The series and the finishes have the greatest effect on the price.
Shaft	Built into the floor slabs or attached on a steel frame. Glazing is added for a glass shaft.
Building works	Pit, openings, strengthening. These are often left out of quotations.
Power supply	Standard 380 / 400 / 415 V, single-phase 230 V as an option. A cable also has to be run to the equipment.
Installation	Delivery to site, installation, adjustment, documents for commissioning.

How to compare two quotations

If the lift is for a wheelchair user

In that case we first select the car and only then sort out everything else.

The manufacturer’s table gives the external car dimensions, so we confirm clear access for a wheelchair with an attendant only from a drawing of the internal dimensions.

For a wider car there are the standard MP Mobi series: 4XL for 8 persons (1100 × 1400 mm external) and larger. They are also installed in public buildings; details on the MP Mobi page. MP has no inclined platform lifts, only vertical ones.

What people ask about home lifts

Can I have a lift for 2 or 3 floors?

Yes, a lift for 2 or 3 floors is a routine job for MP Mobi. This platform lift can have up to 6 stops and a travel of up to 18 m, so we handle a two-floor lift and a four-floor lift in the same way.

Do I need a pit under the floor?

MP Mobi needs a small pit, from 200 mm, or even less on request. Such a pit is possible only with compensatory safety measures; without them, the manufacturer specifies 645 mm. We decide which option to choose after the site survey.

Is there a really compact mini lift for the home?

The smallest series, MP Mobi S for 2 persons and 180 kg, fits a 1060 × 1075 mm shaft, and the M series for 3 persons fits a 1160 × 1100 mm shaft. The HOME series start from a 1350 × 1250 mm shaft. We check whether a wheelchair will fit from a drawing of the internal dimensions.

Is a machine room required?

No, MP Mobi is available without a machine room. We determine the location of the hydraulic power unit on the drawing.

Is a standard household power supply enough?

The standard power supply for MP Mobi is three-phase 380 / 400 / 415 V. Single-phase 230 V or three-phase 220 / 230 V is available as an option. Tell us what supply you have and we will take it into account from the start.

What happens in a power cut?

An automatic rescue device is included in the standard equipment of MP Mobi, and the hydraulic power unit has a manual rescue button.

Can a lift be installed outside the house?

Yes, MP Mobi can be installed outdoors; the manufacturer designs it for use both inside and outside buildings. In that case we build a glazed or solid-clad shaft as an attached steel frame.
