MP goods lifts for warehouses and production come in gearless, geared and hydraulic versions for 1500-6500 kg. First we check how a pallet fits into the car, then we move on to the shaft dimensions.

MP Mega goods lift cars and a pallet at the same scale
We select a goods lift according to what it will carry: a pallet, a trolley, a stacker or a container. The diagram shows MP Mega cars for 2000-6500 kg, each with one 800 × 1200 mm pallet for comparison.
The external car size for machine-room-less lifts is shown from the manufacturer’s table, in millimetres. The pallet is drawn for scale only. How many pallets fit and whether a trolley can turn is calculated from the internal dimensions on the drawing. In the configurator you can place a pallet in the car and view it from the side.
Three drive types for goods lifts
We choose the drive not only by the load, but also by the building and the operating schedule.
- MP MegaGearless, 2000-6500 kg, machine-room-less or with a machine room. Speed 1.0-1.6 m/s, 0.5 m/s from 5500 kg. Suitable for intensive use and multiple stops.
- MP VGeared with a machine room, in high-capacity versions of 2000-3000 kg, 1.0-1.6 m/s. Suitable when a room for the machine already exists or is easy to build.
- MP HydroHydraulic, up to 6500 kg, 0.4-0.5 m/s with such loads, with a machine room. The recommended travel is up to 15 m, so it suits a warehouse with 2-3 levels well.

A goods lift car wears faster than a passenger car, so we choose finishes that withstand impacts from pallets and trolleys.

What people ask about goods lifts
What are the dimensions of a goods lift?
The dimensions of a goods lift depend on the load and the drive. The 2000 kg MP Mega has a 1500 × 2700 mm car (external dimensions), a 2450 × 3000 mm shaft, a 1400 mm pit and 3800 mm headroom. At 6500 kg the car is already 2600 × 4300 mm and the shaft 4100 × 4650 mm. All options are given in the table on this page; other models are on the Lift dimensions page.
Can people ride in it? Is it a goods-and-passenger lift?
The manufacturer’s tables for MP Mega and MP Hydro also give the number of persons: 26 for 2000 kg and 86 for 6500 kg. We determine the operating mode and finishes based on how you plan to use the lift, so please tell us straight away.
Are small goods lifts and kitchen dumbwaiters available?
MP does not make small goods lifts. A restaurant kitchen or a small production facility will need a full-size car.
Are there car lifts?
Yes, MP offers car lifts: hydraulic, 3000-4500 kg, up to 5 stops, with a car length of 4600-6000 mm. These are 2019 catalogue figures, so we check them separately for your project.
What do you need to calculate the cost?
To calculate a goods lift we need the weight and dimensions of the load, how it is brought in, the number of stops and trips per day, and the shaft dimensions or the building design. We calculate the cost after the site survey, and we can also take on the building works.
