MP V is a geared traction lift with a machine room, for 320-3000 kg. It is needed where the building is already designed for this layout and the load is greater than MP GO Room can handle.

Other MP models also have a machine room. We compare them so that you do not pay for rated load you do not need.

Loads up to 1125 kg can also be handled by MP GO Room. For 1125 to 2000 kg with a machine room, we recommend MP V. For 2000-3000 kg there is also MP Mega, and then we compare the drawings: a 2500 kg MP V needs 3400 mm of headroom, a Mega 3800 mm.

The manufacturer’s table gives minimum values to EN 81-1/2 for 1:1 roping and a speed of 1.0 m/s. For a new project we confirm the dimensions under the current standard and take the final figures from the drawing for your project. Car sizes are external dimensions.
When MP V is not suitable
In three cases we recommend a different model.
- There is no machine room and none is planned. There is no point in building one for this layout; for such buildings there is MP GO.
- The shaft is tight and the pit is shallow. In the MP V table the pit is at least 1025 mm. For an existing building, MP Flex is a better fit.
- Loads over 3000 kg. Such loads are handled by MP Mega.

Questions about MP V
Why does MP V cover such a wide load range?
MP V comes in two groups: standard, for 320-1600 kg and 4-21 persons, and high-capacity, for 2000-3000 kg and 26-40 persons. The second group has a deeper pit, 1400 mm, and a shaft width from 2950 mm.
I have also seen MP V described as gearless on the MP website. Which is it?
MP V is geared: that is how the manufacturer’s catalogue describes it, although both descriptions appear on the MP web page. The proposal for your project will specify the exact traction machine.
What is the maximum travel of MP V?
According to the manufacturer’s 2019 catalogue, MP V travel is up to 45 m, with up to 16 stops. If the building is taller, we check whether this is possible for your project.
