Hospital bed lift
MP makes hospital bed lifts for 1000-2500 kg, for a bed and an attendant. We choose finishes that are easy to clean. We first check the car in 3D, and the final dimensions will be on the drawing for your project.

Hospital car types for beds
The diagram shows five car types to the same scale, from a trolley in a 1000 kg car to a bed with medical equipment in a 2500 kg car.
| CA 60 | A stretcher 600 mm wide. The smallest car in which a patient can still be transported lying down. |
|---|---|
| CR 90 | Bed 900 × 2000 mm, attendant at the head or the foot. |
| CH 90 | Hospital bed 900 × 2000 mm, second attendant at the side. |
| CH 100 | Hospital bed 1000 × 2300 mm, attendants at the side and in front. |
| CH 100-IM | Bed 1000 × 2300 mm with medical equipment alongside. |
The diagram lets you compare proportions, but it does not show whether a bed will fit. The cars are drawn to the external dimensions from the manufacturer’s 2019 catalogue; the internal dimensions are smaller. The trolley length is indicative. Before design we check the types against current data, and we always verify unobstructed bed entry on the drawing.
MP hospital bed lift drives
MP makes hospital bed cars for 1000-2500 kg, with a gearless or hydraulic drive.
| MP GO | Machine-room-less. Speed 1.0 or 1.6 m/s, 2.5 m/s optional. Up to 16 stops, 32 at 2.5 m/s. Travel up to 45 m, or up to 90 m at 2.5 m/s. |
|---|---|
| MP GO Room | The same, but with a machine room. For a hospital that already has one and where a control cabinet next to the landing doors would be inconvenient. |
| MP Hydro | Hydraulic, 0.5 m/s, 1000-2500 kg. Suitable for a low-rise extension with a few stops. |
Data from the manufacturer’s 2019 catalogue. For a specific building we confirm them against the current drawing.
Typical hospital bed car dimensions
The values are for a gearless hospital bed lift. They are our starting point for discussing your shaft.

Lift for bedridden patients
For a bed to fit, the car must be deep enough and the doors wide. We choose materials so that the car still looks good after several years.

- FloorRubber 3 mm thick, anthracite or greige, including an antibacterial version. It has no seams that need to be cleaned out.
- Car wallsStainless steel withstands daily cleaning, and the bumper rail takes the impacts of trolleys. A mirror is usually not needed in such a car.
- Handrails and buttonsHandrails on the car walls, Style buttons with Braille and voice announcements. We prepare the Ukrainian announcements ourselves for each lift.
Rescue when the power fails
In a hospital, a lift stopping with a patient inside is dangerous, so we plan the rescue in advance.
If the power fails, the MP GO car travels to the nearest stop on its own and opens the doors. The automatic rescue device (ARD) is part of the standard specification, and there are also two electrically assisted manual modes. For other models we confirm the rescue scope separately and record it in the specification.
EN 81-70 for accessibility, EN 81-72 for firefighters and EN 81-73 for lift behaviour in the event of fire are ordered separately, so they should be named from the outset. The basic design standard of MP GO is EN 81-20/50:2020.
We have collected the DBN V.2.2-40 requirements for a lift in a public building, including car and door dimensions, buttons and communication, with clause numbers, on the Lift for people with disabilities page.
Where MP lifts operate in hospitals
MP lifts are already in operation in Ukraine, including in Kyiv and Dnipro, in hospitals and clinics. This list has been compiled from open data and the factory’s materials.

Installation at these sites was carried out by different companies. We can provide the addresses of individual hospitals on request. Abroad, MP lists North Devon District Hospital in the United Kingdom among its projects.
Our experience in hospitals
When a lift is installed in a hospital that remains in operation, the organisation of works matters most.
In the open register of Prozorro, Ukraine’s public procurement system, as of July 2026 we have 56 contracts with 21 hospital clients. The equipment at those sites is from other manufacturers, not MP. This is our experience of installation and shaft construction in hospitals where patients continue to be treated while the work is under way.
Building works are also on us: pit, headroom, floor slab strengthening, add-on shafts. Our architect and crews handle this, and we have been on the market for over 20 years.

What people ask about hospital bed lifts
Will a 900 × 2000 mm bed fit?
For a 900 × 2000 mm bed, MP offers the CR 90 and CH 90 types, which are 1275 kg and 1600 kg cars. The tables give the external car dimensions, so we show unobstructed entry with an attendant on the drawing for your site. You can view the proportions in 3D.
How many people can accompany a bed?
In an MP hospital bed lift of type CR 90, the bed is accompanied by one person, at the head or at the foot. Types CH 90 and CH 100 allow for a second attendant, and CH 100-IM for medical equipment as well.
Can a hospital bed lift be installed in an existing shaft?
An MP hospital bed lift can be installed in an existing shaft if the shaft has the required width and depth. The 1275 kg gearless type needs a 1800 × 2750 mm shaft, a 1200 mm pit and 3600 mm headroom. If the shaft is smaller, we look at an extension, which we also build. How we check an old shaft is described on the Lift replacement page.
Is there an option for fire services?
Yes, the options EN 81-72 (firefighters lift) and EN 81-73 (behaviour in the event of fire) can be ordered separately for the MP hospital bed lift. They are not part of the standard specification, so please state them in your brief from the outset.
How much does a hospital bed lift cost?
We calculate the cost of a hospital bed lift after a site survey, because it depends on the shaft and on what has to be built in the hospital. What the price includes and what to check in a quotation is set out on the How much does a lift cost page.
