Materials for a new-build lift car
In a new build, the lift is used every day. In the morning people get in with pushchairs and scooters, during the day they carry shopping, and when someone is renovating, sacks of dry mix as well. So we chose the materials by how the car will look in a few years’ time.
The walls are X13 “linen” stainless steel, AISI 304 steel with an embossed texture. On such a surface, fingerprints and minor scratches are far less visible than on a smooth sheet. The floor is natural granite, 20 mm thick, pearl grey. Granite stands up well to sand from the street, and marks between cleanings are barely noticeable on it.
Call mode, mirror and ceiling
- Down collectiveWhen travelling down, the lift stops for landing calls. This is the typical mode for housing, because in the morning most people go down, and in the evening everyone goes up to their own floor.
- Mirror above the handrailThe mirror runs the full width of the upper part of the rear wall. Below it the wall is steel, so bags and pushchairs do not touch the mirror.
- L100 ceilingA continuous panel gives even light without spots or harsh shadows, and a small car does not feel more cramped.
Model and shaft dimensions
This car is designed for a standard machine-room-less MP GO. According to the manufacturer’s table, for eight persons this means a 900 mm door clear opening, a 1600 × 1650 mm shaft, a 1025 mm pit and 3400 mm headroom at 1 m/s. The drawing will show the exact dimensions for your shaft.
In a residential building, noise also matters, as does what the lift does during a power cut. Noise in the MP GO car to ISO 18738 is 50 ± 3 dB(A), and the sound power level of the maGO machine is below 44 dBA. This matters where the shaft adjoins a bedroom. If the power fails, the MP GO car travels to the nearest stop by itself and opens the doors, because the automatic rescue device (ARD) is standard equipment.
The floor can be 3 mm rubber, which is easier to replace than stone. Instead of “linen”, you can choose X14 “leather”, another textured steel with a different pattern.
